The Departure

Today was launch day, it was filled with goodbye’s tears and hugs. I rode in from Mississauga to north Manatulin Island in the township of Little Current Ontario. The ferry was a nice way to break up the riding day and meet fellow riders. I met close to 30 different types of motorcycle’s all travelling to the island. Introducing myself as the guy that was travelling across the country got many different responses from “Wow, that sounds amazing” and many more stories that started with “back when I was your age I did a similar trip on a…”.

I stayed at a motel for my first night that’s right above the main bar in town. Since they ran out of single rooms I get the suite all to myself. Unfortunately its marriage season in town, there are 3 stag and does and 1 wedding preparation. Considering it’s a small town where everyone knows each other the bar is expected to me empty and I will have an early night.

Manatulin Island is a great place to ride, it is filled with beautiful landscapes and nice roads. Right now my main priority is trip planning. I can’t afford to continually stay in motels so camping is the way from now.
