Exploring Kelowna

The ride west to Kelowna has been one of the most picturesque rides of the trip, filled with national parks offering breathtaking views and wild animals along the roadside. I needed to yield to mountain goats on the road and ran out of fuel along a mountain roadway which was a bit nerve wrecking but I made it to Kelowna in time for sunset patio beers. I decided to film the ride with my Contour cameras since it was unfeasible to stop every 10 meters for an amazing photo op.

I was given an opportunity to meet with family in Kelowna. My cousin Dana was kind enough to show me what Kelowna had to offer where the beauty within the city turned my 1 night stay into a 3 day adventure. Kelowna is by far one of the nicest cities I have stayed in, situated right in the Okanagan valley Kelowna is surrounded by scenic mountains, vineyards, beaches, fun nightlife and the best weather a rider could ask for. The downtown center had a few free concerts along the marina with a bunch of bars that had awesome craft beer on tap.

After exploring the nightlife I was surprised by the number of young people in the city. Most of the nightclubs were at max capacity and all the bars were full. During the day I toured the vineyards and took a trip to Kelowna Mountain where I had a chance to walk along the longest pedestrian suspension bridge. Overall I am happy I decided to stay in Kelowna for the extra time the views were spectacular, the people were kind and seeing family is always a major plus.
